Tucked away in the rolling Surrey countryside near Chiddingfold, Ramster Gardens is a true autumn treasure. This historic, family-owned estate offers 25 acres of peaceful woodland paths, natural beauty, and dazzling seasonal colour.
October brings out the very best in the gardens, when the Japanese maples glow in shades of red and gold, the full flush of autumn acers and the ancient trees put on a spectacular display. Winding trails lead you through quiet glades, sculptural features, and serene water reflections – perfect for those who enjoy nature at its most breathtaking.
The gardens date back to the 1890s and have been lovingly cared for by the same family for over a century, creating a landscape that feels both timeless and personal.
At the heart of your visit is the welcoming Ramster Tea House, open daily with a tempting menu of homemade soups, light lunches, fresh sandwiches, and delicious cakes. Whether you tuck yourself inside with a pot of tea or enjoy the view from the terrace, it’s a lovely way to relax after exploring the grounds.
This is a peaceful, unrushed day out, ideal for those who enjoy gardens at their quietest and most colourful.
We should return between 4:30pm & 5:30pm
