After our lovely Christmas break in Chester last year, we travel a little closer to home to the seaside town of Bournemouth where we stay in the lovely 4-star Queens Hotel.
Set one row of buildings back from the beach and only a few hundred yards from the town centre, this lovely hotel makes the perfect base to spend the festive season with access to the warm indoor pool and spa.
Each evening, you can dine as a normal guest by booking your preferred time, but Christmas lunch will be with our group in one sitting.
Being near the city centre, there should also be plenty of scope for Christmas Eve shopping as well as general walks and – of course – the beach is only a couple of hundred yards away.
Christmas is a lovely time to be away and where better to go than a place where all the cooking and cleaning is done for you.
We can’t recommend this break enough as the way to spend a relaxing Christmas.
