Great Dixter was the home of gardener and gardening writer Christopher Lloyd (1921-2006), who developed it into a hub of ideas and connections that spread out across the world.
The garden is still managed in the same way as in Christopher Lloyd’s time with high-impact visual displays but also intimacy in their combinations. All of this is within the strong infrastructure of buildings, garden hedges and landscaped trees.
This tour is being led by Tammy Woodhouse of Millbrook Garden Centre as she has chosen it as one of her absolute favourites.
There will be a slice of cake and tea/coffee when we stop at Millbrook Staplehurst in the afternoon.
We should return between 4:30 & 5:30pm.
