This holiday takes us to the Netherlands for this amazing spectacle!

Centred around the modest but lovely town of Zundert, the surrounding parishes build huge floats to win the competition known as Corso. The key difference is the size of these floats, they are huge, being up to three storeys high!

Covered in dahlia flowers they often have moving parts, emit noises, smoke and sometimes even people are ‘woven’ into the design.

To spice things up, in between the floats numerous marching bands play their tunes and, being the Netherlands, there are even bicycle bands! Not only do they play and ride a bike at the same time they also perform routines while they do it. A bit like a ground-based air display!

You will never have seen anything like this event in the UK!

Itinerary for Corso: ‘The World’s Biggest Flower Parade’

Day 1Crossing the Channel

As we have no other visits this day we’ll take the Dover/Calais ferry across the Channel and take a leisurely trip across France and Belgium to our hotel, the Holiday Inn in central Eindhoven. We will of course enjoy regular breaks along the way.

Day 2Corso Day!

After breakfast we travel to Zundert where we will enjoy grandstand seats for this event. You will be able to leave your seat and watch from other places, too.
There are lots of eating options in the town – permanent and pop up – so you’ll be able to find refreshments relatively easily.
After the Parade we return to our hotel, and you will be free to explore Eindhoven again.

Days 3The return home

After a leisurely breakfast we travel back to the Eurotunnel hub, quite probably with a stop at a chocolate shop on the Belgian border.

Please note that all destinations will require walking, possibly with steps and slopes, which may be slippery. Sensible shoes are a requirement, and you should dress for the weather.

What to Expect

Our aim at Pennywood Tours is to give you a relaxing and carefree time where we do all the work so you can sit back and enjoy the trip.

To this end, all tours are escorted by a group leader who will check you on board and make sure you can find your allocated seat. We’ll seat you with the person/people you are booked with but if you know of anyone else on the trip who has booked separately please let us know in advance and we’ll try to seat you all together. The coach will be a super deluxe vehicle with a toilet and is incredibly comfortable.

Our Group Leader will advise you of all the details of travel times, stops, when to return to the coach etc. so you will be in no doubt about what and when. He or she will be available for any additional questions you may have.

We will do our best to stick to our itinerary but you will understand that when there are traffic jams or adverse weather conditions, we may struggle to do everything as planned but we will let you know what information we have in these situations when we have it.

We look forward to seeing you and welcome any questions you may have by contacting us at info@pennywoodtours.com or on 01622 434 981.
