Our aim at Pennywood Tours is to give you a relaxing and carefree time where we do all the work so you can sit back and enjoy the trip.
To this end, all tours are escorted by a group leader who will check you on board and make sure you can find your allocated seat. We’ll seat you with the person/people you are booked with but if you know of anyone else on the trip who has booked separately please let us know in advance and we’ll try to seat you all together. The coach will be a super deluxe vehicle with a toilet and is incredibly comfortable.
Our Group Leader will advise you of all the details of travel times, stops, when to return to the coach etc. so you will be in no doubt about what and when. He or she will be available for any additional questions you may have.
We will do our best to stick to our itinerary but you will understand that when there are traffic jams or adverse weather conditions, we may struggle to do everything as planned but we will let you know what information we have in these situations when we have it.
We look forward to seeing you and welcome any questions you may have by contacting us at info@pennywoodtours.com or on 01622 434 981.
Departing our pickup points, we travel northwards and visit the Wedgwood factory for a tour and shop. This fascinating visit allows you to see the amazing skills of the Wedgwood staff and learn why their product is so special.
You can also shop for that special treat for yourself, or a gift for Christmas!
After this interesting visit we progress north to our accommodation for the evening: Lee Wood Hotel in the beautiful town of Buxton.
In the morning, there is time for you to visit picturesque Buxton itself, and later in the morning we’ll board our luxury coach and head over to Chatsworth to see the Christmas lights, shop at the Christmas market and visit the great house itself.
As part of our return Journey, we will make our way across country to visit the Christmas event at Blenheim Palace.
Normally stunning in it’s own right, Blenheim becomes something particularly special. To quote from their own website:
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year when over a million lights, lasers and seasonal sounds fill the air with festive fun through the Palace’s picture-perfect gardens. Look forward to some together time with family and friends as you discover glittering tunnels of light, dancing lakeside reflections and trees drenched in jewel-like colour. For a moment of reflection pause at mesmerising flickering flames in the fire garden, gaze up at the larger-than-life illuminations and don’t forget to catch a glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.
“Our crew of talented independent street food vendors bring a delicious twist to tasty treats on offer. Have yourself a holly, jolly Christmas and complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate shared with someone special.“
We will return to our departure points around 9pm, and I can’t wait to go!
Please note that all destinations will require walking, with steps and slopes, which may be slippery, and the need to step between the quayside and boat deck. Sensible shoes are a requirement, and you should dress for the weather.
