Each year, the beautiful city of Amsterdam hosts an international light festival, where artists from across the globe are chosen to provide lighting installations within the central area.
We travel up to Amsterdam to stay in the fabulous 4 star Movenpick Hotel and enjoy a free day before it gets dark. Once the lights have come on, we will take a beautiful boat trip around the canals to experience everything in full. Finally we head to Antwerp to enjoy the Christmas Market and stay at the unique 4 star Hotel Theatre.

Our aim at Pennywood Tours is to give you a relaxing and carefree time where we do all the work so you can sit back and enjoy the trip.
To this end, all tours are escorted by a group leader who will check you on board and make sure you can find your allocated seat. We’ll seat you with the person/people you are booked with but if you know of anyone else on the trip who has booked separately please let us know in advance and we’ll try to seat you all together. The coach will be a super deluxe vehicle with a toilet and is incredibly comfortable.
Our Group Leader will advise you of all the details of travel times, stops, when to return to the coach etc. so you will be in no doubt about what and when. He or she will be available for any additional questions you may have.
We will do our best to stick to our itinerary but you will understand that when there are traffic jams or adverse weather conditions, we may struggle to do everything as planned but we will let you know what information we have in these situations when we have it.

Departing reasonably early we’ll take the ferry to Calais before driving direct to Amsterdam with stops along the way for refreshments.
After checking in, we’ll enjoy a welcome evening meal.
Enjoy a free day in the city to shop or visit museums. In the evening, we’ll be picked up by our private boat to tour the Light Festival and see beautiful Amsterdam by night, a stunning experience in itself!
Following a leisurely breakfast, we’ll travel south to the beautiful old city of Antwerp where we’ll stay at the Theater Hotel, so called because it’s a converted theatre, renowned for its big rooms! You’ll be free in the afternoon to explore the city and the Christmas Market.
On our last day of travel, we wind our way back to Calais for return to the UK via Eurotunnel, possibly stopping to buy chocolate somewhere along the route through Belgium!
We should be home in the early evening.
The holiday includes coach transport, hotel accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, with an extra dinner on the first night, entry to all named venues, including the private boat trip to view the lights, and the services of a group leader.
Note: It is a condition of the trip that you have travel insurance to cover any medical needs, including repatriation costs.
Please note that all destinations will require walking, possibly with steps and slopes, which may be slippery. Sensible shoes are a requirement, and you should dress for the weather.
